The End of an Era

Friday, December 29th, 2006

Hello everyone. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas season this year, and I wish you many blessings for the coming year.
I don’t know how many people know this, but this is actually the fourth (or fifth?) incarnation of The Idea Basket. It was originally a tech news and commentary site, which underwent several permutations […]

Back in the Running

Monday, August 21st, 2006

Hey folks, I’m back! After being gone for a few weeks due to a family emergency, I’m now ready and rarin’ to go. First on the agenda: getting Willowgarden Developer Preview 2 out the door! The first step in that direction is adding the code to a Subversion repository, and to that end I’ve put […]

The face that launched a thousand bits

Friday, May 26th, 2006

Now some might say I’m just engaging in an ego trip, but I decided I’d try to scrounge up a decent portrait of myself and put it on the blog here so y’all know who’s writing what you’re reading. I like to connect with people on the Web and always enjoy seeing what they look […]

Politics and technology blogs don’t mix

Thursday, May 18th, 2006

I’m going to rant for a moment, so you may want to leave if you aren’t in the mood.
I’m sick and tired of seeing political tirades mixed in with technology discussion on blogs. When I go to a blog that’s all about, say, marketing Web services, or developing Cocoa software for Mac OS X, or […]

Spruced up the place

Monday, April 24th, 2006

You may notice the color scheme is slightly different around here. I decided I’d put a bit more contrast and warmth into the design, so it’s now easier to scan (especially on PC monitors with higher gamma). I might try a redesign (or a realign I should say) later on, but for now it tickles […]

Wordpress 2.0 and tagging

Thursday, April 6th, 2006

Yay! That was pretty easy! I just upgraded The Idea Basket to the latest 2.0.2, finally, so I’ve caught up with the blogging Joneses. In addition, I installed the Ultimate Tag Warrior plugin, so now I’m tagging my posts and have a pretty tag cloud on my sidebar. I’ve tagged some of my recent posts, […]

Took a break, but on the way back

Thursday, January 12th, 2006

I took a break from blogging the past few days to focus on getting some work finished, getting some spiritual stuff in order, and on a fun note, enjoy the Macworld shindigs. I was home during the keynote and checked all the newsfeeds constantly — and then watched Steve in action later in the day. […]

Back from the Holidays

Wednesday, December 28th, 2005

Hi folks! After a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Birthday (yes, I just celebrated my 23rd birthday on Dec 27th), I’m looking forward to a tremendously exciting 2006. With Intel Macs on the horizon, the continuing explosion of Web 2.0 apps, chocolate, and the release of xajax 0.2 stable (hopefully tomorrow), there are […]

Category changes

Tuesday, December 13th, 2005

I renamed Nitty-Gritty Code to Nitty-Gritty Tech (because not all nitty-gritty computer geek things are about code only), and I added a new category called Cool Web Things — which I’ll fill with posts about, well, cool things on the Web. What’s next for the Idea Basket? Tagging. And one of those nifty-looking tag clouds!

Will resume posting shortly

Tuesday, November 22nd, 2005

Hi folks, just wanted to let you know I’m recovering from a bad cold I got a few days ago, and now we’re heading into Turkey Season (in the USA, that is). Needless to say, I probably won’t be giving the Idea Basket much attention until next week.
However, I wish you all the best on […]
