from Start to Finish
Do you enjoy working with web design or consulting agencies? We believe it's not only possible, it's paramount.
When we first sit down with a prospective client, our mantra is to keep the process transparent and engaging. We understand you may have certain preconceptions in mind as we meet together. Your past experiences, knowledge, and needs are all factors we consider of primary importance to our working relationship.
Our initial 1 hour consultation is totally free. Sometimes, that's all that's required. Other times, we may need to shoot some more ideas back and forth until a project plan emerges. Once you're ready to proceed, we sign a contract and begin work on the project. Here's how it all works in 5 easy steps:
We use tools like Yammer to share files and messages back and forth. It's better than e-mail in many ways. We also make sure to keep your business plans, assets, and development materials completely confidential.
After a project is completed, our Support Help Desk is a tool you can use to contact us right away should any problems arise. For High Priority requests, we will be paged and start working towards fixing the issue ASAP—7 days a week.
Questions/Answers
How will you know what my website should look like?
As part of the initial consulting phase, we try to get a clear sense of what your particular style already is. You may have certain fonts or colors that you naturally gravitate to. If you have existing marketing materials (a logo, business cards, brochures, etc.), we can work within the parameters of your existing design language. However, we often find that people expect a website to "jazz" things up a bit compared to a business card or flyer, so we try to find ways to make important elements pop on the site. Our ultimate goal is that when we send you our first mockup, your reaction isn't "what on earth is this?!" but "wow, that really matches what I was expecting!"
If I don't know how I want to structure content into a Site Map, can I figure that out and make changes later?
You will have the ability to make simple changes to formatted textual and graphical content that is already on your site once it's launched, but from a process standpoint it is preferable that we will have a Site Map worked out and ready to go before a mockup or functional site structure is created. That way you won't have to spend extra money later for us to redo major design work.
It seems like there are easy ways to get online now, like WordPress or GoDaddy. Why is it worth it to spend extra money and work with a web designer?
It is true that you can get a website up and running for free or minimal cost. It might look pretty good too. But it's not going to be tailor-made to your brand and present the content and features that are important to your specific line of business, and & trust us & customers know the difference between a unique, custom-designed website and a publicly-available template.

New! How do you handle payments?
We use a very cool online invoicing service that allows you to pay via PayPal, giving you the flexibility of credit, debit, or linked bank accounts. You are also welcome to pay by check. You have the ability to see past invoices and which ones are paid or outstanding. Our invoices are due upon receipt, but we don't charge any late fees until 30 days have passed.
Like everything we do at Siteshine, we think invoicing and online payments should be simple and easy. This is part of our service to you.
